Flight Tips
If Your Flight Is Canceled:
1. Call or text me.
2. Stand in line at the gate or service desk.
Ask:
*Why was the flight canceled?
*When is the next available flight?
*Can I be rebooked on another airline?
*Are there nearby airports with availability?
Download Your Airline’s App: Get real-time updates on gates, delays, and baggage.
Airline Lounges: Verify hours and locations in advance (e.g., American Airlines Admirals Club, In Denver’s Terminal 3 Concourse H/K, open 5 a.m.–9 p.m.).
Stay Connected Internationally
· WhatsApp: Free global messaging and calls — no international plan needed.
· Airalo (eSIM): Affordable mobile data abroad.
· USB Data Blocker: Click here — ideal for public charging stations.
Health & Insurance
· Travel Insurance: Strongly recommended. Covers costly emergencies, including healthcare and repatriation.
· Health Insurance: Bring a copy; expect to pay out-of-pocket without travel insurance outside the U.S.
· NutriBiotic® GSE Liquid Extract or Capsules: Great protection in destinations where water and food safety can vary (e.g., Latin America, the Middle East, Asia). A small investment (~$15) can help prevent vacation-spoiling illness.
Driving Abroad | International Driving Permit (IDP) Required in countries like France, recommended elsewhere.
Available through AAA — one of only two authorized U.S. issuers.
If you have a valid U.S. driver’s license, you can legally drive in most of Western Europe without an International Driving Permit (IDP). However, some countries require or strongly recommend having one, especially if your license is not in the local language (English is not always accepted).
Here’s a breakdown:
Countries Where an IDP Is Recommended (but not always required):
France – Not officially required, but many rental companies ask for one.
Germany – Not required for short visits, but police may request it if there’s an incident.
Italy – Officially required by law for U.S. drivers (you may be fined if stopped without it).
Austria – Required if your license is not in German.
Spain – Technically required, but often not enforced by rental companies.
Greece – Required.
Portugal – Not required, but recommended.
Croatia – Required if your license is not in Roman script.
Hungary – Recommended, though not required.
Czech Republic – Recommended.
Not Needed (for short stays):
Ireland
United Kingdom
Netherlands
Switzerland
Belgium
Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland)

Common Cruise Questions
“What if I get seasick?”
Modern ships have stabilizers and many remedies available. Most guests barely notice movement. If you’re prone to motion sickness, choose a larger ship, calmer route, or bring a prescription patch.
“What if I miss the ship?”
Stay on ship time — always! Booking excursions through the cruise line helps, but punctuality is key.
“Will I be bored on sea days?”
Hardly! Enjoy pools, shows, classes, dining, and entertainment — or just relax.
“Do I have to dress up every night?”
Some evenings are more formal, depending on the cruise line. A versatile outfit or two is plenty.
“Will I feel lost onboard?”
Ships are easy to navigate — use maps, the cruise app, and the helpful crew. You’ll feel right at home in no time!
