Relax in the spa atmosphere of Montecatini on your morning at leisure. Later this afternoon, visit Castello del Trebbio, a magnificent castle in the Tuscan hills and the place where the drama of the Pazzi and Medici feud was hatched and rocked the city of Florence centuries ago. Experience - guests will learn how the Pazzi family came up with a plot in this very castle to dethrone the Medici as rulers of Florence. Anna and her cousin Alberto of the Baj-Macario family, the owners of the castle today and your warm hosts, delight in taking guests on an exclusive tour of their 12th-century castle and its wine cellars, once home to the castle’s infamous dungeons.
Guests will enjoy a traditional Tuscan meal in the grand hall of the castle, with a view of its lush gardens beyond, learning how the family now run the castle and estate in harmony with nature. Beyond the delicious meal and captivating story, guests will leave knowing that through their visit they are helping to preserve the castle and estate for generations to come, as well as the memory of this important period in Tuscan history.

Itinerary: Touch history in Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania, as you sail along the exotic lower Danube. Celtic fortifications, medieval towns and grand cities, along with the natural beauty of pastoral landscapes and the Danube’s famed Iron Gates, showcase the best of eastern Europe. Nature lovers will relish the opportunity to bike through Belgrade’s sprawling Kalemegdan Park. Wine connoisseurs will have a chance to taste history from the centuries-old wine-growing hills dating back to the Romans in Ilok, a royal and vinous town. Be treated to the flavors, sights, sounds and cultures of this diverse swath of the continent.
